I noticed these on a half-frozen river, instructed the dog to stay safely at the riverside, crawled on the ice under an old bridge ...and became quite captured by all the wonderful patterns, shapes and colours  Oh well, what kind of weird situations are we not easily lead into by our need to catch images! In this case, technology is the free speech's best defender. Gilbert needed to tell the truth as he observes it, and with his text message he found a way though Israel's blockade of free information. Reporters from other countries have no access to Palestine yet, and the reports we can see on TV are done and shot from the Israel's side of the border. Many of us use Multiply as a place to relax, somewhere to share merely nice things like favourite music, images and the good and interesting events of our lives. I enjoy it.  But..then Gaza "happened." And a message showed up on my mobile telephone. It was sent from Gaza, through a friend we have in common. It was from the surgeon Mads Gilbert. We would for example never decorate the tree early this month regardless of how much we love this season! Strange how we are guided by these invisble rules called traditions. Preparations for the Christmas Holiday is mostly taking place during December. Most children have their "Christmas calendar" with a little numbered window to open each day. This wood carving is one of many fantastic works of Oddvin Parr. The last 12 years he has been working on the cycles of the play "Peer Gynt" by Henrik Ibsen. On this image one can see two seasons, fall and winter, and for sure, it felt like that too :) This peaceful looking place was once a well-known thing. Due to its dimensions, also probably one of the most important in Scandinavia. It is 10 meters high and the diameter is 55 meters. A thing or ting  was the governing assembly in Germanic societies, made up of the free people of the community and presided by law-speakers. This big man-made mound might also be a tumulus for a rich and mighty man. Whatever has happened in the past, it is still a beautiful and fascinating place. These days used for celebrations,  or people can come and sit down there for a while. Tidemand (1814-1873) Visiting Bergen Art Museum earlier this week, I found myself very captured by this painting. So many things are going on there, so if you take time to study it well, you will find more than you expected! I bought a smaller reproduction of it, and made an image for PP since the theme this week was communication. Tidemand created some of the most renowned paintings in the national romantic period in Norwegian history of art. The human personalities interested him. I fell completely for this beautiful pavilion. It simply invites people to sit down and be joined in a nice conversation or having a meal together.   <h2>Historic Hotels in Norway</h2> Historic hotels are not ”ordinary” hotels. I wanted to test out a new programme recommended by my online friend Sharon, and post it as a picture perfect. Angles Standing on a bridge, watching the most beautiful tall ships leaving the harbour, was breathtaking. What an angle to shoot from! And look! Those vessels have numerous angles! This is Shabab Oman, a barquentine, the Arab world’s only tall ship.
